Servings 1 - 9 inch pie

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ c white sugar
  • ¼ c dark corn syrup
  • ¼ c butter
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ c chopped pecans
  • 1 9 inch unbaked pie shell

Instructions

  • Gather your ingredients together so that making the pie will go as smoothly as possible.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine the corn syrup, sugar, butter, water, and cornstarch in a medium saucepan, whisking or stirring until well combined. Bring this mixture to a boil, then remove it from the heat.
  • Beat your eggs until they are frothy and foamy. Slowly beat in the cooked corn syrup mixture so as not to disturb the eggs. Beat slowly until well combined. Then gently stir in the salt, vanilla, and pecans.
  • Pour the pecan filling into the pie shell.
  • Bake your pie for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling looks set and golden brown.
