Ingredients
  

  • 32 individually wrapped caramels unwrapped
  • 5 tbsps heavy cream
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c rolled oats
  • ¾ c brown sugar
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ c butter melted
  • ½ c semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ c chopped walnuts

Instructions
 

  • 1. While you preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, melt together the heavy cream and caramels in a medium saucepan. Remember occasionally to stir until the blend is smooth.
  • 2. In another medium bowl, mix the oats, baking soda, flour, brown sugar, and salt together. Take the melted butter and stir it into the dry mixture until it's blended well.
  • 3. On the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan, pour and press half of this mixture, saving the other half.
  • 4. Place the crust in the oven and bake for 8 minutes, then remove it and spread some walnuts and chocolate chips around in it. Now pour your caramel mixture over the crust, and then crumble the rest of the crust over the whole thing.
  • 5. Put the dish back into the oven for about 12 more minutes, or until the top looks lightly toasted.
  • 6. Finally, cut it into squares while warm.
