2lbschicken wingssplit at the joint and tips removed
Kosher salt
For serving : Blue cheese dressing
1/2chot saucesuch as Frank's RedHot
Instructions
First, ensure the chicken wings are dry before adding a liberal covering of salt for seasoning. Add cooking spray to the air fryer basket, taking care not to spray the bottom of the fryer.
Place the wings in the fryer basket. The chicken wings should not be touching each other. To achieve a good fit, wings can be placed lying or standing in the basket
Adjust the setting on the air fryer to 360 degrees Fahrenheit. After frying the wings for 12 minutes, flip them with tongs and fry them for a further 12 minutes. Once this is done, flip the wings once more and raise the temperature to 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook the chicken wings for approximately 6 minutes more until the skin is especially crispy.
While the chicken is frying, place the butter in a microwaveable bowl and heat for one minute until melted. This can also be done in a pan on a hob before being transferred to a small mixing bowl. Once the butter is melted, add the hot sauce and whisk them together.
When the chicken wings have finished frying, toss them in the butter mixture. Once they are completely coated they are ready to serve. Serve them with a side dressing of ranch or blue cheese.
