Ingredients

  • 2 sticks 8 ounces cold unsalted butter
  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 6 slices cheese

Instructions

  • Grate the butter using the largest holes on your box grater. So really, more than grated butter, you end up with shards of butter.
  • Gently mix the butter and ground beef in a large bowl. Do this as quickly as you can to avoid the butter melting in the warmth of your hands. Once mixed, shape the ground beef into 8 patties (around 4 inches in diameter and ¾ inch thick).
  • Place the patties onto the baking sheet and season generously with salt on both sides.
  • Heat the grill to medium to high heat.
  • Cook the patties for around 4 minutes on either side. Place your cheese over the patties while they have around 1 minute left of cooking.
  • Serve immediately once cooked and load up with your choice of toppings.
