Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs beaten
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • vanilla ice cream optional

Instructions
 

  • To make the Amish oatmeal pie, start by preheating the oven to 350º F and line a pie pan with an unbaked pie crust.
  • For the filling: pour into a large bowl brown sugar, oats, sugar, and salt, mix together then add the milk, slightly beaten eggs, butter, and vanilla extract.


  • Mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour the filling into the prepared pie shell.


  • Bake the Amish oatmeal pie for 45-50 minutes, or until a golden crust forms.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes. Serve a slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
