Ingredients
  

  • 1 beef flank steak 2 pounds
  • 1/2 c canola oil
  • 1/2 c reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 c red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsps water
  • 2 tsps brown sugar
  • 2 tsps minced fresh gingerroot
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, you will need to take the piece of steak and cut slits onto the surface of the meat in the shape of diamonds.
  • Combine together the canola oil, reduced-sodium soy sauce, red wine vinegar, water, brown sugar, ginger root, garlic cloves and black pepper.
  • Marinate your steak in the mixture on both sides, making sure to fully cover it. Pop into the fridge for a minimum of two hours while still marinating in the mixture, making sure to turn the meat every so often.
  • Grill the steak over a medium temperate for between 6 to 8 minutes. It may require less or more time depending on your preference.
  • Once cooked, leave to stand for 10 minutes.
