Ingredients

  • 1 beef flank steak (2 pounds)
  • 1/2 c canola oil
  • 1/2 c reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 c red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsps water
  • 2 tsps brown sugar
  • 2 tsps minced fresh gingerroot
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Firstly, you will need to take the piece of steak and cut slits onto the surface of the meat in the shape of diamonds.
  2. Combine together the canola oil, reduced-sodium soy sauce, red wine vinegar, water, brown sugar, ginger root, garlic cloves and black pepper.
  3. Marinate your steak in the mixture on both sides, making sure to fully cover it. Pop into the fridge for a minimum of two hours while still marinating in the mixture, making sure to turn the meat every so often.
  4. Grill the steak over a medium temperate for between 6 to 8 minutes. It may require less or more time depending on your preference.
  5. Once cooked, leave to stand for 10 minutes.
