17 Easy Ramen Recipes

There are a million different ramen recipes out there, but how do you know what’s the best? If you’re looking for a fancy ramen recipe or something plain and simple, we’ve got it all! In this article, we will offer some of the tastiest and best recipes with ramen, along with answer any burning questions that you might have.

For this of you who may not know, ramen is a Japanese noodle soup. It usually includes ingredients such as scallions, pork, menma, and nori, and is flavored with either soy sauce or miso. Then, it has Chinese-style wheat noodles which then soak up the flavor of the meat or fish-based broth.

When you make the ramen, there are a few things that you should be aware of.

Firstly, when you eat the ramen, you should sip the soup first. This is because the soup is, arguably, the most important part.

Then, when you’re enjoying the ramen, you might want to slurp a little. This is because not only does it cool the soup down, but it makes you take in more air from your nose and take in more flavors.

Finally, be careful to not go overboard with the condiments. I get it, you want to make your ramen really tasty – but too much, and the whole dish will be ruined. Especially when you are first learning to make ramen, it is important to start slowly.

Now just head into that kitchen because you are ready to start cooking!

How to make ramen?

Ramen is simple – usually it is just noodles and a broth. There are many ways to make it, but so long as it results in these two items, it is ramen.

As a general rule of thumb, you should first work on the broth. This can take between a few minutes to several hours to create, so it is important that you get it done first.

Then, you should add in the noddles. Pop in some other ingredients like veg or seasoning, and then once the noodles are cooked, you are ready to serve!

What can I add to ramen noodles to make it taste better?

Garlic, sesame seeds, and even hoisin sauce are great ways to improve your ramen.

Some other ideas are to:

  • Crack an egg into the ramen
  • Add in some soy sauce
  • Make it with coconut milk
  • Sauté some mushrooms in ginger
  • Sprinkle in lime juice
  • You can even load it up with cheese!

What seasoning do you put on ramen?

Ramen seasoning is mainly down to taste, but salt, pepper, garlic, and sesame never fail.

Along with that, it is important to have a base of either soy sauce or miso. Of course, you should also have a broth which is either fish or meat-based.

What goes with ramen?

Bao buns, bread, or any other carbs go great with ramen.

In regards to toppings, you might consider some nori seaweed, raw or cooked bean sprouts, chopped or shredded leeks or green onion, or preserved bamboo shoots.

To end it, finish with a nice tea such as a Chinese black tea, a Japanese green tea, or a pu’erh.
