Polish Noodles (Cottage Cheese and Noodles)

Did you ever think about combining cottage cheese and noodles? If the answer is no, think again! Cottage cheese and noodles make a creamy, lush, and comforting meal that I’m sure you will enjoy. Pair it with a salad, and you’re done with dinner! Think of these Polish noodles as a leaner version of Mac and Cheese!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

To make these dreamy Polish Noodles, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Salted butter
  • Sweet yellow onion
  • Garlic
  • Wide egg noodles
  • Cottage cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Salt
  • Freshly chopped parsley

How To Make Cottage Cheese and Noodles?

It is very easy to make these noodles, cottage cheese, and cream meals.

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions, reserve ½ cup of cooking water, drain, and set aside
  2. While the noodles are cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet and saute the chopped onion and minced garlic until transparent and slightly brown.
  3. Add the cooked noodles, cottage cheese, sour cream, and pasta cooking water to the skillet with the onion/garlic mixture and cook for a couple of minutes until well combined.
  4. Check the seasoning and add salt if needed. Serve with freshly ground pepper and chopped parsley on top.

Can I Use Low Fat Cottage Cheese?

Sure! It’s a great idea if you are counting calories. You can also use whipped cottage cheese if you don’t like the texture of regular cottage cheese. I love cottage cheese so much that I eat a scoopful on top of Pineapple Crisp!

How to Reheat Polish Noodles?

You know noodles with cream sauces tend to get a bit dry when they cool down, so before reheating them, add a couple of tablespoons of water to your leftovers.
