Tips and Tricks for Making Macaroni Soup

  1. Elbow macaroni is used in this recipe, but you can use any smaller noodles such as rotini, penne, shell, farfalle, or fusilli.
  2. I recommend cooking the noodles al dente as they will continue to cook slightly in the pot and soak up the broth.
  3. Drain excess fat from your beef so it doesn’t make your broth greasy.

Freeze Hamburger Macaroni Soup

Soup with ground beef and pasta freezes well if you cook the pasta al dente. That way the pasta won’t get overcooked and mushy when reheating. Store in a freezer bag or airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Store leftover beef macaroni soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
