Ingredients you’ll need:

  • Lasagna noodles: I used regular lasagna noodles, but you can use ready-to-bake, no-boil noodles for convenience
  • Onion and garlic: finely chopped to flavor the bechamel sauce
  • Butter, flour, chicken broth, and milk: these are the basic ingredients of the classic bechamel or white sauce
  • Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese: they will be used to flavor the white sauce and give it a cheesy texture, in between the layers, and as a topping
  • Italian seasoning: this herb mixture will give amazing flavor to the white sauce
  • Ricotta cheese: makes one of the creamy layers. For best results, use full-fat ricotta cheese
  • Chicken: cooked, cubed skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • Spinach: we’re using thawed frozen chopped spinach for convenience
  • Parsley: chopped fresh to be used to top the lasagna.

Can I use canned chicken?

You certainly can. It is very convenient to use canned chicken. However, if you want to use fresh chicken breasts, season them with salt and pepper, brown them in a hot skillet, cook them through, and dice them. You will absolutely love this chicken lasagna recipe!

How to assemble Creamy Chicken Lasagna:

  8. Top the cheeses with the last 3 lasagna noodles
  9. Spread the remaining ⅓ white sauce over the noodles, top with 1 cup shredded mozzarella and ¼ cup parmesan cheese as the top layer.

What to serve with Chicken Lasagna?

This chicken lasagna recipe is almost a full meal, but it’s lacking veggies. I think a salad like my Tomato Cucumber Onion Salad is the perfect side dish, or maybe my Green Beans, Bacon, and Potatoes Recipe would also work great.

For dessert, let me entice you with my decadent Almond Sheet Cake, or maybe something simple yet delicious, like my Pineapple Crisp Recipe!

Tips for Reheating Chicken Lasagna:

  1. I prefect to use the microwave to reheat leftover lasagna for convenience, but you can certainly use the oven.
  2. If you are reheating the lasagna in the oven, I recommend covering it with foil so it won’t dry out.
  3. Sometimes food stored in the fridge loses some moisture. If you feel this is the case with your leftovers, sprinkle some water on top before reheating them

How Long Can Leftover Lasagna be Stored?

If stored in the fridge, your leftovers will be good for 3 days. Remember to store them in an airtight container. You can freeze this chicken lasagna recipe for up to 3 months, and it must be stored in an airtight container as well, or wrapped twice with plastic wrap and once with foil.
